Louisville man arrested after juvenile shot in the leg

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they have one man in custody after a shootout in Sheppard Park led to a juvenile being shot in the leg.

According to an arrest report, it happened on Sunday, June 10, shortly before 8 p.m., near the intersection of 17th St. and Magazine St.

Police say suspects there were involved in some kind of argument, and two people drew handguns and, "fired multiple shots."

"A juvenile victim was struck one time in the left leg, and there were approximately 50 adults and children in the area," police say.

The juvenile was taken to University Hospital for treatment.

Police arrested 19-year-old Chaz White. Officers say he gave a recorded statement admitting that he was one of the two shooters.

He was charged with first-degree assault and wanton endangerment.
