UK president apologizes for layoffs announcement

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The president of the University of Kentucky is apologizing for the way recent layoffs were announced.

Eli Capilouto has sent out a campus-wide e-mail providing more details.

UK officials announced last week that 140 people would lose their jobs and another 164 positions wouldn't be filled.

Current faculty haven't been affected.

In the email the UK president apologized for any confusion about how the layoffs have been communicated.
