Bank hopes giant fork statue helps customers

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersontown bank is telling customers to put a fork in it.

We'll, not exactly.

Forcht Bank is putting up this giant fork outside so people can learn how to pronounce its name.

It isn't spelled like the utensil, but that's how it's pronounced.

Officials realized that people didn't know how to say it, so up went the 18-foot fork.

"They did a similar project in Lexington, and they put an 18-foot fork in the ground. It really helped create a lot of buzz for the grand opening. We realize there's still a lot of folks that don't know how to pronounce Forcht Bank. It's spelled Forcht, but pronounced fork," says Forcht Bank Market President Jason Stuecker.

Forcht Bank is a full service community bank with 35 locations across Kentucky.
