LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman will use her power and dedication in the London Paralympics.

22-year-old Oksana Masters uses prosthetic legs.

She will compete in the rowing competition in August.

The St. Matthews Kroger where she works helped send her off today.

Masters has been part of the sport for ten years, and says it was just a few years ago that her coach said she was ready for the paralympics.

"It was about four or five years ago, so I was still a kid and just the thought of traveling was all I wanted to do. I don't think I really understood the olympic level until I got older and was like, 'oh my god it's really prestigious,' and not just anyone goes and trains for it," says Masters.

Her partner is Rob Jones, a marine who lost his legs serving overseas.

The opening ceremony for the paralymics is August 29th.
