Former McMahan fire chief to appear in change of plea hearing

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- There could be a change of heart from the former fire chief accused of stealing money meant for needy children.

Former McMahan Fire Chief Paul Barth is scheduled to appear in federal court next week for a change of plea hearing.  His attorney won't comment, but Barth previously pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen charges of fraud and money laundering.

He's accused of embezzling more than $200,000 meant for the Crusade for Children.

Barth's federal trial has been set for July 9th.
