LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 62-year-old woman who is a convicted felon has been arrested for carrying a gun.
According to the arrest report, an officer was sent to Dosker Manor on Muhammad Ali Blvd. about 1 p.m. Monday on a report of a woman being detained who was armed with a gun. When the officer arrived, an off-duty corrections officer had already placed the woman -- Marva Watts -- in handcuffs.
The corrections officer told the LMPD officer that Watts had been arguing with other residents and causing a disturbance. When he confronted Watts, she kept reaching into her purse. That's when the corrections officer says he noticed the firearm and handcuffed her.
Watts has a felony conviction on her record concerning her involvement in a 1993 murder. As a convicted felon, she is prohibited from carrying or owning a gun.
She was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
