LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say they found a running vehicle with stolen copper in the parking lot at Waggener High School -- but no driver!

It happened in the early morning hours of June 10.

Police say the vehicle belonged to 31-year-old Teddy Silver, and had a plastic bag covering up the license plate.

School officials say it will cost $20,000 to replace the stolen copper.

Officers didn't see Silver at the scene that morning -- but they do say he filed a report after the vehicle had been impounded, falsely claiming it had been stolen. Police say he did this to, "cover up his actions."

But cops didn't buy it.

They say surveillance video doesn't corroborate claims Silver made in the report -- specifically claims about his vehicle itself and his whereabouts that day.

He's been arrested and charged with receipt of stolen property and filing a false report.
