LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Construction is now underway on an 18-point-two million dollar project to repair the Kennedy Bridge.
Your commute could take a major hit, the changes started Thursday night, and could cause a lot of headaches Friday morning.
Crews closed off entrance and exit ramps to I-65, and now the bridge is officially down to just a couple lanes.

Andrea Clifford, a spokesperson for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, says, "People definitely need to make themselves informed, that's the best thing they can do."
Here are some more tips from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet:
-Hit the road earlier
-Find a different route across the river
-Minimize your distractions
Clifford says those three things will ease the pain. "Make sure you're paying attention to the signs, we put them out there for a reason. We're not trying to do this to make it inconvenient for anyone, its all for safety purposes."
Workers will be busy 24 hours a day, this project is not something they can do overnight.
They'll be replacing expansion joints and repaving the surface for the next six to eight weeks.
Several ramps will close and reopen during different phases of construction, so it's important to keep up to date with the latest information.
On Sunday night, additional entrance and exit ramps in Kentucky are closing.
