LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41)---Just two days into work on the Kennedy Bridge, repairs are ahead of schedule.
That means ramp closures on I-65 that were scheduled for Sunday night, took place Saturday night at 8 p.m.
The exit ramps from 65 south to 64 east and west will be closed for the next 10 days. , The ramps from 65 north to 64 east and west will be closed for the next 15 days.
The ramps will be closed for 10 days while repairs are being made.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says they are expecting a lot of congestion Monday morning and are trying to come up with solutions.
"Our engineers are actually trying to look at ways that they might be able to shift the maintenance of traffic to see if we can alleviate some of that, but we just have a certain amount of room and a lot of work to get done," says Andrea Clifford with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Drivers are encouraged to follow the signed detours in the meantime.
All work for this entire project is scheduled to be completed by August 15th.
