Shooting victim's brother charged with assault

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a woman remains hospitalized after being shot by her brother.  20-year-old Jules Snead is now charged with first degree assault.

He pleaded not guilty in jail court and his bond was set at $25,000 full cash.

Investigators say the sister went to the home off of Beulah Church Road Monday morning, got into an argument with Snead, and he shot her in the upper legs.

Even though police say she is not expected to survive, Snead's attorney disagrees, saying the woman is actually in stable condition and expected to be back in surgery on Tuesday.  The attorney says her mother and father expect her to survive.
