Terri Smith pleads guilty to animal cruelty

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Henry County woman charged with more than 200 counts of animal cruelty learned her fate Tuesday.  Terri Smith pleaded guilty to one charge.

She was officially sentenced to 150 days home incarceration and ordered to pay $5800 in fines.

Last December, Animal Control officers rescued 240 animals -- dogs, cats, rabbits and more -- after a raid of her home.

Smith's husband committed suicide after the arrest.  Four of the animals died.

The rest were either sold, adopted, or placed with rescue agencies.
