LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An appeals court has dismissed a lawsuit connected to a police chase that killed two young girls near the University of Louisville.

In July 2009, Kenielle Finch was driving at a high rate of speed from police when he hit and killed 5-year-old Claudia Fay Wadlington and 4-year-old Riley Jane Lawrence.

The families filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the parole officer, saying if he had properly supervised Finch the chase never would have happened.

The court found that the parole officer did his job and can't be held responsible for Finch running from police.  Finch is serving life in prison.
