LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) -- Authorities recovered a body from the Ohio River early Saturday near Waterfront Park, according to a witness and Metrosafe supervisors.
Coast Guard officers pulled the body from the river near mile marker 603 around 8:09 a.m. Saturday. The case was turned over to LMPD's homicide unit. Officer Carey Klain, an LMPD spokeswoman, says no foul play is suspected.
A witness told WDRB News that the body was reportedly spotted by barge employees and was recovered on the Kentucky side of the river near Joe's Crab Shack. The person's identity has not been released.
