Ky. mom, son braving heat to help others stay cool

Posted: Updated:

PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) -- A mother and son in western Kentucky have braved the heat looking for anyone needing a cool down.

Stephanie and Seth Daniel of Paducah have been cruising the roads around Paducah looking for people who need help as the thermometer reaches 100-plus degrees across the state.

Stephanie Daniel told WPSD-TV in Paducah that she "wouldn't feel right" sitting in an air conditioned house or in a pool knowing that people had no way to escape the heat.

It isn't the first time Daniel has gone out in unforgiving weather to provide assistance. She did the same thing in early 2011, when people were in tents in the midst of a cold winter. Daniel says her mission stays the same no matter the weather.
