Three years later, double murder remains unsolved

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) -- It was exactly three years ago that police uncovered a gruesome double murder scene in Fairdale, but they still have not made any arrests.

83-year-old Allie Habich and her 53-year-old daughter Rita Carrico were stabbed to death on June 30th, 2009.

Carrico had come to her mother's National Turpike home to take her to a doctor's appointment.

Habich's son, who lived there with his mother, found the bodies of the two women when he arrived home.

The investigation is still open, and police ask anyone with information to call the anonymous tipline at 574-LMPD.
