Fire officials still investigating what caused recycling center fire

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41)---Fire officials in New Albany say they are still looking into what caused a massive fire at a recycling center.

The fire happened Saturday at QRS Riverside Recycling in New Albany.

Firefighters from the city and other areas worked to put out the blaze.

The fire was visible for miles and could even be seen from downtown Louisville.

The fire has been contained.

It temporarily closed a stretch of Indiana 111.

A statement on the QRS Recycling website says 19 fire departments responded to the blaze, and 8 firefighters were taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion.

The business will reopen first thing Monday morning.
