LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officers and emergency crews scrambled to get out of the way early Sunday when a man driving at a high rate of speed drove around emergency vehicles blocking the scene.

According to the police report, officers were responding to reports of a rollover crash around 4:30 a.m. on River Road and Greenbelt Highway. Crews were in the process of rescuing the victim from his vehicle which had come to rest in a wooded area. They were about to move him to the ambulance when a vehicle -- a 2012 Hyundai -- unexpectedly entered the crash scene.

Police say the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Kenneth T. Raby, drove around police and EMS vehicles, and even ran over pieces of the victim's car police were trying to preserve as evidence.

According to the arrest report, one officer ordered Raby to stop, and police say he obeyed that order, "but had a very poor attitude at the time."

The victim was rushed to the trauma center at University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Raby was arrested for tampering with physical evidence and obstructing government operations.
