LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Two men are behind bars after police say they beat another man with a tree limb. Denj Arej and Joel Yuang are charged with assault.
Police say they got into a fight with the victim on Southland Boulevard. That's when they're accused of using the tree limb to hit the victim in the head.
Court documents show the victim suffered swelling to his brain and had to undergo two brain surgeries. Police say he is on a ventilator and not expected to survive.
Both suspects pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday morning.
