LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Bowling Green, Ky. woman who's accused of leaving 19 children in a small, filthy home for five days, with no food or air conditioning, in 100-degree temperatures.
Jackie Farah, age 32, was arrested when she returned home late this afternoon and charged with 14 counts of criminal abuse and five counts of wanton endangerment.
The kids, ranging in age from just 8 months to 14-years-old, were all found yesterday, along with 9 dogs and a cat.
A neighbor says Farah and a man told her last Wednesday that they were leaving for a family emergency in Michigan.
She also says she called police two weeks ago, worried about conditions in the home.
"They come out here and don't do anything," said Annie Adams, a neighbor. "So what happens? You're not going to do anything until one of them gets severely hurt or killed? I just think it's ridiculous."
The kids were treated at a local hospital and then placed into protective custody.
Farah is being held without bond.
