LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say they found seven children -- all under the age of 10 -- in a home with a "large amount" of heroin and other drug paraphernalia.
It happened at a home on Huberta Drive, just south of the intersection of Terry Road and Greenbelt Highway.
According to an arrest report, police went to the home looking for a man who was wanted on a warrant. When officers knocked on the door, it was answered by 23-year-old Niki N. Brown, who allegedly told police the man wasn't there.
But officers say they saw him running out the back door.
Police say Brown gave them permission to search the home, telling officers they would find needles in a back room.
Officers say they found more than that.
According to arrest reports, they found a "large amount" of heroin, multiple needles, spoons with residue on them, a scale and folded up papers.
They also allegedly found seven children, all under the age of 10.
Police arrested Brown, as well as 26-year-old Tara Cummings, who was also in the home. Both women are charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor.
