LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 19-year veteran of Louisville Fire & Rescue is accused of drug trafficking.
Police say they searched the home of Sgt. Willie McBride Jr. on Flair Knoll Drive, near the intersection of Rockford Lane and Cane Run Road, late Tuesday night.
Inside, they allegedly found a large quantity of marijuana and several weapons.
He's charged with marijuana trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A spokesman for the fire department released a statement Thursday morning:
"The Louisville Division of Fire is aware of the arrest of Sgt. William McBride," said Capt. Salvador Melendez of Louisville Fire & Rescue. "We are in the process of placing him on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation by the Public Integrity Unit. We have no further comment at this time."
