LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Thursday morning, the Louisville Slugger Factory started producing bats that will be used in the MLB Futures Game on Sunday, the Home Run Derby on Monday, and the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
Each one is handcrafted at the factory.
Souvenir bats with the All-Star game logo will also be made for each player and coach involved in the 83rd All-Star Game. Louisville Slugger spokesman Rick Redman says the bats are a keepsake for all the players.
Louisville Slugger is the only bat maker to be involved in every MLB All- Star Game ever played.
