Busy part of Chamberlain Lane will be closed for two weeks

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A busy part of Chamberlain Lane will be closed for two weeks.  The section between Shenandoah Drive and White Pine Way that leads to Kentucky 22 will be closed starting Friday morning at 9:00.

It's part of the New Chamberlain Lane construction and the widening of 22.  Drivers will have access to 22 via New Chamberlain Lane.

The 22 widening project extends out to Murphy Lane and is expected to be completed in November.

As Andrea Clifford of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet explains, "People will still be able to get to 22 because we're opening that new section of New Chamberlain Lane to traffic so people will be able instead of coming up Chamberlain Lane and doing that 90 degree left and then it's another 90 degree right and going on 22, they'll have a straight shot on New Chamberlain Lane up to 22."
