LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell told the Louisville Rotary Club on Thursday that our country is in serious trouble.
He cites the growing deficit in China as well as the Supreme Court's decision to uphold President Obama's health care plan, saying there are a lot of misconceptions about it.
Sen. McConnell said, in party, "Number one -- the president said it was not a tax. Well the Supreme Court has the last word on this, said it was a tax. Number two, it was said that it would actually save money in the American healthcare system -- that's proving to be false already." Number three was sold as reducing health insurance premiums, that's not happening, and number four, the Congressional Budget Office, not Mitch McConnell, not John Boehner, but the Congressional Budget Office, which works for neither side, says the law fully implemented will cost the country between 800,000 to one million jobs."
McConnell says if he regains his position as Majority Leader in January, his first priority will be to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act.
