New Yorkers protest city's crackdown on super-sized drinks

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- New Yorkers are protesting a crackdown on super-sized drinks.

The rally against Mayor Michael Bloomberg's ban on sugary drinks over 16 ounces is being called the "Million Big Gulp March."

Opponents say the city is overstepping its authority and infringing on personal freedom.

"I'm here to tell mayor Bloomberg, 'Stay out of my business!'" said protestor Danny Panzella., who said the government didn't have any right to tell him what to eat and worried that salt content may be regulated next.

Mayor Bloomberg said the restriction is a way to fight obesity in a city that spends billions of dollars a year on weight-related health problems.
