The Boston Herald says UK recruit Nerlens Noel needs two summer school classes to improve his grade point average.
LOUISVILLE (WDRB) – Will Nerlens Noel be available to take
Anthony Davis' spot on the University of Kentucky frontline next season?
Will the Wildcats end their tradition of playing a
regular-season game in Freedom Hall?
Too soon to make the call on Noel. But even if he does
become eligible, Noel will not be appearing in Freedom Hall next season.
A report in the Boston Herald says that Noel is enrolled in
two summer school classes at his original high school in Everett, Mass., as he
tries to improve his grade point average and become eligible. Noel actually
played at the Tilton School the last two seasons. The Herald says that Noel
won't finish class work until early August.
UK released its non-conference basketball schedule today,
and the Wildcats' only appearance in Louisville will be to play Rick Pitino's
team at the KFC Yum! Center Dec. 29.
No game in Freedom Hall.
No game with Indiana.
No game with North Carolina (which announced a three-year
series with UAB today).
The meat of UK' non-conference schedule will be played away
from Rupp Arena. The Wildcats play Maryland (Nov. 9) in Brooklyn, Duke (Nov.
13) in Atlanta and Notre Dame (Nov. 29) in South Bend. The signature home game
will be against Baylor on Dec. 1.
