Bids submitted for East End crossing contract

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Six Indiana teams have submitted bids for the first contract related to the East End Crossing of the Ohio River Bridges Project.

The Indiana Department of Transportation opened bids today, ranging from more than $3 to $4 million.

The project includes designing and building a three-thousand-foot extension of Old Salem Road, with a 170-foot bridge that crosses over the future State Road 265 approach.

When the East End Crossing opens to traffic, Old Salem Road will be the first Indiana exit north of the new bridge.

An official contract award is expected within two weeks, and ground is expected to be broken next month.
