LMPD investigating fatal motorcycle crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro Police began investigating after a fatal motorcycle crash early Thursday.

It happened about 3:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Snyder Freeway near New Cut Road. Investigators say the driver of the motorcycle lost control, hit a guardrail and died at the scene. 

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Nicholas M. Jeanes of Louisville.  He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:36 a.m. of multiple blunt force injuries.

Witnesses tell police he was driving at a high rate of speed before the crash. 

The southbound lanes of the Snyder were closed until a little after 7 a.m. during the investigation and cleanup.

Police say the victim was not wearing a helmet.
