Edgar Sosa broke his left foot playing against the U.S. Olympic team Thursday night.
LOUISVILLE (WDRB) – Craft your "Get Well" cards to Edgar
Sosa. I'll try to get an address. Sosa, the former University of Louisville
guard, is suffering a string of injuries that only Robbie Hummel and Maurice
Creek can understand.
Less than a year after Sosa suffered a horrific broken right leg playing
for the Dominican Republic national team last September, Sosa broke his left
foot playing for the same team Thursday night in Las Vegas against the U.S.
Olympic team. Sosa confirmed the news in a Tweet after the game, which was dominated by the Americans.
Sosa, as usual, was positive, saying this in his first
Tweet: "Thank you guys for all the prayers.. Just got my xray.. Broke
my left foot.. Through this all god is good and I live for him.."
Sosa was playing for Kentucky coach John Calipari. He followed it up with this one:
of asking god why me.. Why not me.. I'm blessed to even be alive.. Real talk.'
Sosa was scheduled to remain in Las Vegas
and play for the Sacramento Kings' in the NBA Summer League. Now he'll need
time to heal – again.
He's a resilient guy with great perspective -- and he'll need both qualities.
