LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Friday the 13th was a lucky day for doughnut lovers, as Krispy Kreme celebrated its 75th birthday.
The company was founded on July 13th, 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Today the company has almost 700 stores in 21 countries, including four in the Louisville area.
Business was brisk at the store on Bardstown Road because the doughnut company is running a special to mark its birthday. If you buy a dozen doughnuts, you can get another dozen for just 75 cents.
Store manager Jim Vogel says the special will run through midnight Friday night.
