LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana needs volunteers. That was the message at the Grooming Men of the Future recruitment drive Saturday.
Big Brothers Big Sisters was looking for volunteers at 5 Star Barbershop in Jeffersontown. Officials say there is an urgent need for particularly African American volunteers.
"There are currently over 100 youth in Louisville metro who have asked to be mentored and are currently on a waiting list and some have been on a waiting list for over six months," said Adam Rivon, big brother.
Saturday's event included food and door prizes for potential volunteers.
