LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Has the more than year-long search for Lauren Spierer finally come to an end? Her family is hoping so.
A fisherman found a human skull in the White River near Indianapolis-- it had been there at least a year. Now, experts are testing that skull to see if it's the 20-year-old I-U student, who was last seen in Bloomington over a year ago.
Spierer's father released a statement on Facebook saying, "In the days ahead, a family will have answers they have been desperately seeking. Will it be ours? When will you end this nightmare for our family?We will never give up. We are just as determined as we were on June 3, 2011. You need to know that. It's our promise to you. For now we continue to wait."
