LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Drivers won't get any relief from Kennedy Bridge construction and traffic this week.

Transportation officials tell WDRB the northbound side will remain open to just one lane of traffic until next week.

It was supposed to reopen to two lanes last week, but that was pushed back until this week.

Now it's been delayed again. Crews are waiting for materials to arrive and approvals from INDOT to do steel repair work.

And they don't know how long that repair work will take until they actually start doing it.

"We don't want them to be closed any longer than possible, and neither does the contractor or INDOT," said Andrea Clifford, of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.  "But we do want to make sure the repairs are done properly."

They hope to have a better idea of when two northbound lanes will reopen by the end of the week.
