LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 3,800 workers at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant are on temporary layoff through Friday.
The company suspended truck production at the Chamberlain Lane plant because of a parts shortage from a supplier.
Ford expects production to resume next Monday, said spokesman Todd Nissen.
He could not comment what specific part is in short supply.
The workers assemble Super Duty trucks, Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators.
They are eligible to claim unemployment for the week, Nissen said.
The shutdown comes just two weeks after a scheduled summer break of one week, half the summer break time in the past.
UAW Local 862 sources could not provide details late Tuesday.
