LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A work crew got an unexpected setback when trying to replace the staircase to an apartment.
After the stairs were torn off, they learned a woman had left her three children, ages 8 to 13, in the apartment. The owners of the apartment complex had notified all tenants of the plans.
The fire department was called in and used a ladder to get the kids down safely.
LMPD contacted the father, who arrived and took the children.
