Throwing lit cigarettes will cost drivers

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A tossed cigarette could cost Indiana residents a hefty price.

Indiana State Police will hand out up to a $10,000 fine for drivers caught tossing lit cigarettes out the window.

With the drought conditions, it doesn't take much to spark fires.

A huge field fire burned near Interstate 65 in Indianapolis this week.

The worsening drought conditions prompted the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to place the entire state of Indiana under a water shortage warning.
