Crowne Plaza Hotel damage worse than originally thought

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The storm damage at a popular Louisville hotel is worse than initially thought, which means it's going to take longer to get everything back up and running at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Strong winds blew part of the roof facade off last Thursday night.  Chunks of debris flew into the parking lot, damaging several cars below.  Winds also broke water pipes, causing water damage in about 150 rooms.

Hotel officials wanted all those rooms open by Wednesday, but now say it will be next week before they're ready.

That will still be in time for the Street Rod Nationals show at the nearby Fair and Expo Center.
