LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An LMPD officer pleaded not guilty this morning to driving drunk and hitting a man with his car.

Police say Officer Joseph Pence was off duty but drunk when he allegedly hit Jason Taylor with his personal car early on July 22.

Police say Pence got into a fight with the alleged victim at the Golden Nugget bar, and had another run-in at the corner of Bardstown Road and Bashford Manor. He was subsequently arrested on Goldsmith Lane near the Turtle Creek apartments.

Pence is charged with DUI, assault and wanton endangerment.

He's now on administrative leave.
