Volunteers work on new WaterStep building

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Hard work in Old Louisville Friday morning is expected to make a big difference to people around the world, as dozens of volunteers worked on the new WaterStep building.

They cleared the grounds of debris and weeds, painted, and moved in donated office furniture.

It's all to help the organization that offers training and technology, so people all over the world can learn how to keep their water clean and disease-free.

WaterStep just took over the building, which had been vacant for six years.  Most of the volunteers were local high school students and GE employees.

It hopes to begin operations there early this fall.
