LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Animal Services says it has too many animals and is putting adoption specials into place to try to find homes for them.
"We have 104 cats at our Animal House Adoption Center which is a record high and approximately 150 at our Manslick location," said LMAS Director Justin Scally. "We also have over 200 dogs hoping for a second chance."
LMAS says it is trying to place as many animals as it can. It says they become homeless for any number of reasons. Sometimes their owners don't have the time or money to take care of them. Others are neglected or abused.
