LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Severe thunderstorms brought scattered power outages and minor damages to several Louisville area counties Friday evening.
Authorities reported no injuries as of 9:30 p.m.
The Louisville Gas & Electric Co. outage map showed more than 18,000 customers without power, with most centered in the Highlands. Duke Energy figures showed more than 3,200 customers without power in southern Indiana, centered in Clark and Floyd Counties.
Parts of the city of Frankfort, Ky., lost power after 7 p.m. The National Weather Service reported numerous trees and lines down in the city, particularly in the Thornhill area.
Storms moved from the north and northwest into the Louisville and WDRB viewing area after 4 p.m., bringing heavy rain, possible wind gusts of 60 m.p.h. and small hail.
The weather service also reported parts of roofs torn from buildings in Scott and Jefferson Counties, Ind., and in Trimble Co., Ky.
WDRB viewers submitted Facebook photos of hail from Jeffersonville, Sellersburg and Bedford, Ind., and several locations within Louisville and Jefferson Co., Ky.
Friday marked the third evening this week for severe thunderstorms.
