New Cut Road Trolley Hop premieres

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There's a new way to get around South Louisville.

Today was the first New Cut Road Trolley Hop. It stops at nearly 40 landmarks, shops, and restaurants in south and southwest Louisville.

Most sites along the trolley hop route planned special events and attractions throughout the day.

Stops along the route include the new Fairdale Library, the Auburndale Village Shopping Center, and the Little Loomhouse.

"Which many people don't know that's where the Happy Birthday song was written 100 or 200 years ago...a long, long time ago," said District 13 councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch. "That's an interesting place."

Officials say the New Cut Road Trolley Hop will run once a month through October.... and then again in April and May of next year.
