LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville man after he and an unknown number of accomplices allegedly shoved a 70-year-old security guard down the steps at the Mall St. Matthews.
It happened Monday, just after 8 p.m. at the mall, which is located on Shelbyville Road near the Watterson Expressway.
Police say Thompson, along with other unidentified suspects, (including one juvenile), showed up at the mall with the intent to cause "mischief."
They started by shouting profanities at a group of security guards, according to an arrest report. Then they allegedly walked directly up to a 70-year-old guard and knocked him down the steps and grabbed his hat.
The guard suffered a minor injury to his shoulder.
After taking the hat, police say the group left the mall, jumping into a vehicle driven by a female.
They tossed the hat out the window as they were driving away, according to police.
Thompson was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with robbery and engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor.
