Police find kidnapped man bound and gagged in back of car

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41)---Louisville Metro Police say around 11:00 Friday night, a man was overpowered and kidnapped by three people at the Circle K located at 14000 Taylorsville Road.

Police say the man is an employee of the Circle K.

Alicia Smiley, with Louisville Metro Police, says around 3:30 Saturday morning authorities pulled over the man's car in front of the Old Chicago restaurant on Taylorsville Road, near Hurstbourne Parkway. She says the car was pulled over for a traffic violation.

Authorities say the officer heard banging coming from the trunk of the car and called backup.

Police found the man bound and gagged in the truck.

Three people have been arrested and charged with kidnapping, wanton endangerment, and theft by unlawful taking. The three people arrested include 28-year-old Brittany Elder, 27-year-old Trent Blye, and 27-year-old Joseph Davis.

Authorities say they were all in the vehicle when the officer pulled it over.

Police say at this time, nothing indicates that the victim knew these three people.

Police say the victim had non-life-threatening injuries, but was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
