LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Centre College is gearing up to host some of the most powerful politicians in the country.

The school in Danville will host the vice presidential debate October 11th.

The format for the debate has just been announced.

The non-profit Commission on Presidential Debates says it will cover both foreign and domestic topics over 90 minutes.

It will be divided into nine segments of approximately 10 minutes each.

The moderator will ask an opening question and each candidate will then have two minutes to respond. The rest of the time in the segment will be used for discussion.

The debate will be the only one this year for the vice presidential candidates.

Centre College also hosted the 2000 vice presidential debate.
