LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The health department in Washington County, Indiana, says tests confirm eight pigs with the swine flu after a quarantine at the county fair. It's still awaiting test results on several people who've become sick since then. Those could come on Thursday.
The state health department reports at least 11 cases of flu linked to swine across Indiana, including cases in Jackson and Jennings County.
The state has set up a hotline for swine flu questions. You can call 877-826-0011 Monday-Friday 8:15-4:45, or click this link:
Health officials are also warning that one part of the Kentucky State Fair could be dangerous for some people.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is telling people at high risk for the flu to avoid exposure to pigs at fairs. All the cases were linked to people who attended agricultural fairs or exhibited pigs at the events.
Now Kentucky State Fair officials are working on a plan with Kentucky's Department of Agriculture.
