University of Kentucky incoming freshman center Nerlens Noel has told CBS sports that he's been cleared academically by the NCAA.
Noel had reclassified from junior to senior status during this season, and had been working to complete coursework at Everett High School in Massachusetts.
"Sandy Bell called me and woke me up," Noel told Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com. "She told me I was good to go. I knew I did it, but I was still nervous until I go the official word."
Noel is expected to be one of the top shot-blockers in college basketball next season.
