Maybe you can fight City Hall -- one man solves parking flap

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- One Louisville resident has shown that you can fight City Hall.  Some folks were upset when the city put up signs that would have prevented them from parking on their street during this weekend's big St. Joseph's Picnic.

But Rich Givan complained to his Metro Council member, Tina Ward-Pugh, and Thursday the signs came down.  "I made phone calls, sent emails," he said, "and at 9:15 this morning, City Hall responded and the Public Works people came out and took down the signs. I want to thank Tina Ward-Pugh and her office for making that happen. One person can make things work."

Givan says parking had never been off-limits during the picnic before, and he hopes it's never tried again.
