LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A mental evaluation has been ordered for an armed man police say was watching the bar where missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer was last seen.
The 56-year-old man told police he had been in a parking garage watching the Bloomington bar where Spierer had partied with friends.
She disappeared in June of last year.
Police say the man had two loaded semi-automatic handguns and a loaded shotgun. They found 48 other weapons when they searched his home, but police say they have no reason to believe the man was involved in Spierer's disappearance.
