LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is behind bars, accused of stealing a car and leading police on a chase.
On Friday evening, authorities tried to pull over a car on Rockford Lane in Shively that matched the description of a stolen vehicle.
The driver fled, and an officer fired his gun, but nobody was injured.
Police caught up to the car at Rockford Lane and Van Hoose Road.
Three people were taken into custody.
But, authorities say only 19-year-old William Derksen is charged for the crime.
He's charged with burglary, assault, theft by unlawful taking, fleeing and evading police, and wanton endangerment.
The public integrity unit is investigating why the officer fired is gun during this incident.
